July 10 to 16

Another hot week with no sign of things getting cooler. Another week as well of juggling work and home with running and finding time to get the hours in. Managed four runs, just! Thursday am, Friday am, Friday pm and Sunday morning for the long run.

Thursday 12th July

Really not keen on tempo runs but this was 10 min warmup, 3 10 minutes tempo runs with 3 min rest between and then 10 minutes cool down. Really please to get 4:38/km over a 56 minutes run. Did the run before work and managed to survive the day without falling asleep too – bonus 👍

Friday 13th July – AM

Overall slower than yesterday but just intended as an easy run out. Again run before work. Legs not feeling too knackered after yesterday’s tempo runs.

Friday 13th July -PM

Treadmill session of 5Km. Probably didn’t need this but if I’m honest I wanted to knock over 50Km for the week and had done 24 with 23/24 ish to do Sunday so needed a couple of spare Km in the bag. Treadmill is about as much fun as freezing warts of a rhino!

Sunday 15th July – Long Run

Absolutely loving the long run. The scenery is great out around Harwell and Ginge direction running through the fields and Ginge brook ( leftmost point of trail above) is just fab.

The pictures are from the route. I love the Ridgeway and South West Coastal Path. But this is really a close substitute and it’s on my doorstep! Got to love it.

Next week I really want to push on from 23Km. Would love to make 25 but might still be time limited to 2hrs for another week. Let’s see 🏃🏻‍♂️
